Baja California´s wildlife for reconnecting with nature
Our natural world offers us a continuous source of inspiration and wonder. Reconnecting with nature is key to our well-being. Living away from it can make us forget how amazing our planet is.
Baja California is the place to inmerse yourself in the wild, with its untamed nature. Baja California´s wildlife and beauty will conquer your heart.
Swimming among countless fish, playing with sea lions, riding a boat surrounded by wild dolphins, seeing playful whales breaching, flying between massive mobula rays aggregations…All these experiences make us feel more alive and connect us with our planet. La Ventana and the area around it, are some the best places to get to know Baja.
Baja California´s wildlife
In the Baja California Peninsula nature is at its best, offering us amazing wildlife encounters in the middle of breathtaking scenery.
The Gulf of California or Sea of Cortez on the east, a young sea where we can find an array of islands and coral reefs. On the west side, the Pacific Ocean, a powerful mass of water where big migrations and feeding events take place. Both make Baja a hot spot for marine life.
Besides Baja California´s wildlife, you will fall in love with the scenery. Right next to the sea, sierras form the spinal cord of the peninsula and are home to many different plants and land animals: from reptiles to birds and mammals as iconic as the puma or the coyote.
Many endemic species live in the Peninsula due to its reduced communication from the rest of the continent.

Locations
We are based in the beautiful towns of La Ventana and El Sargento. From here in just a short boat ride we can witness the magic of the Gulf of California in all its glory. Many species of marine mammals inhabit these waters: different dolphin species, sea lions, humpback whales, blue whales, orcas, sperm whales…Turtles and colorful fish swim in the reefs of Cerralvo island. Baja California Sur in all its glory.
But we also enjoy exploring around Baja. Espíritu Santo island, just a boat ride from the beautiful city of La Paz, where you can meet the most playful sea lions. In different seasons we also travel to other locations for the best wildlife encounters, like the Mexican sardine run and marlin adventure in Magdalena Bay or the friendly gray whales of the Pacific side shallow lagoons.
